Justin Timberlake riscuote un gran successo ai prestigiosi premi musicali di MTV, con ben 5 nomination: «best male», «best live», «best video per la canzone “Mirrors”», «best look», e «best US act».
I colleghi esordienti Macklemore & Ryan Lewis gli fanno testa con altre 5 nomination, tra cui «best song per “Thrift Shop”» e «best hip hop».
Seguono, tutti con 4 nomination, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus e Robin Thicke.
Gaga e Cyrus dovranno battersi nella categoria «best female» insieme a Katy Perry, Selena Gomez e Taylor Swift.
La Cyrus spera anche di spuntarla come «best video» per il singolo «Wrecking Ball», in cui sfoggia un nudo integrale e lecca la punta di un martello. Anche Gaga è stata nominata per il video di «Applause», e Thicke per la sua «Blurred Lines».
Per il «best pop», Timberlake dovrà vedersela con gli One Direction, ma anche qui sono in lizza la Perry, la Cyrus e la Swift, che è proprio l’ex di Harry Styles.
L’attesissimo evento musicale andrà in onda su MTV da Amsterdam, domenica 10 novembre.
